FESTIVAL STYLE WITH BARBOUR 2019

Growing up, my dad used to watch music festivals on the tv and I remember dreaming of going one day. But it felt so far away and unattainable. Never did I think that I would find myself at one of the biggest British music festivals this year, but when the opportunity presented itself.. I jumped on it.

Joe and I flew to London for a day and hit some of our favorite spots like Rosslyn Coffee & Dishoom and the next day we made our way to Somerset. We had really never explored any of the countryside of England, so that 3 hour drive went by way too quickly. (We even got to drive by Stonehenge!)

We arrived at The Talbot Inn and I felt like I had immediately stepped into a storybook. The Inn has been welcoming travelers since the 15th century and holds so much history and charm. We found ourselves waking up early in the mornings to go for long walks around the village or have our coffee in the courtyard before we left for the festival. We find so much joy in the simple things and being able to stay in The Talbot Inn made for some incredible memories. (by the way, I feel like I’m giving away my most prized getaway spot so you’re welcome)

After we had our peaceful mornings and felt recharged, we headed for the festival! If there’s one thing we’ve heard about the festival.. it’s the poor weather. Supposedly it’s always raining or gloomy or cold. But somehow we got lucky this year because the weather was absolutely perfect! I brought my Barbour wellies anyways ;) . It was still a cool morning so I went in my favorite romper and Barbour x Alexa Chung Wax Patch Jacket. When I say that this jacket is truly an all season jacket, I mean it. I wore it all throughout the day: the cool morning, hottest part of the afternoon, and as the sun was going down. And I’m still wearing it as I write this! It has been my trusty companion this entire trip.

As we entered the festival, I was blown away by the size. I’ve been to festivals like Coachella and Bonnaroo, but this was on an entirely different level! It truly felt like multiple different festivals coming together. There were hundreds of food stalls, vintage shops, convenient stores.. you name it, it was there. There were tents as far as the eye could see (thank goodness we had our amazing Inn to get back to). We grabbed a pint and headed to our first show. That day we saw The Lumineers, Sheryl Crow, Tame Impala. Our second day was Janet Jackson, Liam Gallagher, Keane, Hozier, and The Killers! (who put on one of the best performances I’ve seen in a long time) The lineup this year was incredible! The weather definitely took a turn the second day and we saw a 30 degree drop in a matter of a few hours! But thankfully I had my Barbour Pip Jacket.

Still in disbelief that I was able to go. This was truly a trip of a lifetime and I will never forget it. Fingers crossed we’ll be back one day. You can shop my festival looks below!
